NACUMS invites each regional mail association to select a representative to fill a seat on its Board of Directors. In ACUMS, the NACUMS representative is appointed to a two-year term by the President with approval of the other executive officers.

This ACUMS’ representative to NACUMS, more commonly referred to as the NACUMS rep, is an important conduit for the flow of information between both organizations. The representative provides a report of each organization’s activities to the other at their respective conferences and board meetings.

For ACUMS, the NACUMS representative is primarily charged to promote the strength and growth of NACUMS; ensure that NACUMS decisions are mutually beneficial to both organizations; foster closer cooperation and communication among the national and regional associations; and to promote the professional awareness of all college and university mail services.
